Why do I need ETH to Send digital assets that aren’t ETH?
ETH is used to pay gas fees on the Ethereum network, even if you're sending a different token like USDT.
ETH pays for all Ethereum network transactions.
Even when sending another token:
- The transaction still runs on Ethereum
- ETH is required to process it
- Without enough ETH, the transaction can’t go through
RockWallet will warn you if your ETH balance is too low.
💡 Tip: Gas fees vary based on network activity and speed settings, so it’s a good idea to keep $5–$15 worth of ETH in your wallet to cover future transactions.
You can always check current Ethereum gas fees using a gas tracker before you transact.
