I sent someone crypto, but I don’t see it.
If you’ve sent crypto and don’t see it in your wallet (or the recipient says they haven’t received it), don’t panic - this usually comes down to how blockchain transactions work.
Step 1: Find Your Transaction
Every crypto transaction has a Transaction ID (TXID or hash).
You can find this in your wallet’s transaction history.
Step 2: Check the Blockchain (This is the source of truth)
Your wallet is just a view - the blockchain is the actual record of your transaction.
Use a blockchain explorer based on the asset you sent:
- Bitcoin (BTC) → blockchair.com
- Ethereum (ETH, USDC, USDT) → etherscan.io
- BSV → whatsonchain.com
Paste your transaction ID (TXID) into the search bar.
Step 3: Understand What You’re Seeing
Once you open your transaction, here’s what matters:
Status: Confirmed
- Your transaction has been successfully processed on the blockchain
- The funds have been sent
- If the recipient doesn’t see it yet, it may be:
- Their wallet needs troubleshooting
- The wrong address on their end
👉 At this point, the transaction is complete and cannot be reversed
Status: Pending / Unconfirmed
- The transaction is still being processed by the network
- This can take a few minutes… or longer, depending on:
- Network congestion
- Fees paid
👉 Nothing is wrong - it just needs more time
Status: Failed (rare)
- The transaction did not go through
- Funds are typically returned to your wallet
Common Reasons You “Don’t See It”
Let’s clear up the usual suspects:
- Wrong address
The receive address is incorrect. Double-check that the address is correct - Unsupported network
If crypto was sent on a network the receiving wallet doesn’t support, it may not appear - App display delay
Sometimes your wallet takes a minute to sync and show updated balances - Looking in the wrong asset
(Yes, it happens more than you think 😅)
Important to Know
- Crypto transactions cannot be reversed once confirmed
- Your wallet does not control the blockchain
- If the transaction shows as confirmed on the blockchain, the funds have left your wallet
