Why did my 'Buy’ transaction with debit or credit card fail?
Learn what can cause a failed card transaction in RockWallet and how to fix it.
RockWallet currently supports Visa and MasterCard debit or credit cards.
If your ‘Buy’ transaction fails, you’ll see an error message explaining what happened and how to fix it.
Below are some of the most common reasons for card transaction failures and what you can do:
1. The payment was declined by your bank
- Your bank may have blocked the transaction for security reasons.
- Try using a different card or contact your bank for further assistance.
2. The payment expired due to inactivity
- Some banks require you to approve the transaction in your banking app, SMS, or via email.
- Be sure to approve the payment promptly when you receive the request.
- If it expires, try again, and if the issue persists, contact your bank or card issuer.
3. The payment failed due to a temporary technical issue
- Occasional network or processing errors can interrupt a transaction.
- Try again using the same card.
4. The payment was unsuccessful
- Your billing information or card details may be incorrect.
- Verify your card number, expiration date, and billing address match your bank records, then try again.
5. The payment was declined or failed
- This can happen if your card provider blocks online or international transactions, or if the purchase amount exceeds your limit.
- Double-check your card details, ensure your account is up to date, and try again with a lower amount if needed.
