What is a Recovery Phrase?

Your 12-word key to securely accessing and recovering your RockWallet.

Your Recovery Phrase (also known as a secret recovery phrase or seed phrase) is a unique set of 12 random words generated when you create your RockWallet.
These words are the master key to your wallet. They prove ownership and allow you to recover access if you ever lose your device or reinstall the app.

How to keep your Recovery Phrase safe:

  • Write down all 12 words using pen and paper.

  • Never store it digitally (no screenshots, photos, or cloud backups).

  • Keep it in a safe, private place - somewhere only you can access.

⚠️ Important:
If you lose or forget your Recovery Phrase, your wallet and all digital assets in it will be permanently locked.


Because RockWallet is a self-custodial wallet, only you have access to your Recovery Phrase - RockWallet cannot restore, unlock, or recover your funds without it.
