Avoid Support Scams | RockWallet Security Tips
Protecting Yourself from Phone & Impersonation Scams
At RockWallet, your security is our top priority. Scammers can target people by pretending to be “support agents”, trusted companies, government agencies, and even law enforcement. These scammers often ask to stay on the phone with you and request using screen-share or remote access tools to take control of your device. This can give a scammer access to sensitive account information and the ability to move your funds without your knowledge.
Here are some tips to help you stay vigilant and protect against these types of scams.
What RockWallet will never do:
- Ask you to share your password, 2-factor authentication (2FA) codes, or recovery (seed) phrase
- Ask you to install software so we can “help” you navigate the app
- Remotely access your device
- Give you a new recovery (seed) phrase
- Ask or pressure you to move your funds to a new or “safe” wallet or address
If someone is asking you to do any of these things, stop immediately - it’s a scam.
How RockWallet will communicate with you
- You should only contact us through email Support@RockWallet.com or live chat at www.RockWallet.com
- If you’re disconnected from a support chat or email, we will never ask you to call us
What you can do to protect yourself
- Never share your recovery (seed) phrase, 2FA codes, or password - even with someone claiming to be from RockWallet
- Avoid installing any apps or screen-share tools at the request of someone over the phone
- Only send cryptocurrency to wallet addresses you know and trust
- Enable biometric sign in – if available
- Use 2FA features (authenticator apps provide the strongest protection)
- Turn on 2FA for sending & buying transactions
- If something feels off, reset your PIN in-app right away and contact us through our official support channels, email Support@RockWallet.com or live chat at www.RockWallet.com
Remember
If anyone pressures you to act fast, asks for confidential information, or tells you to move your funds “to keep them safe” - that’s a scam. Hang up and reach out to RockWallet directly.
