# How do I set up/create my RockWallet account?
## Setting up RockWallet is quick and secure. Here’s how to create your account, why it’s required, and what to know if you previously used RockWallet with Wyre.
**Create your account**
You’ll create your RockWallet account directly in the app.
1. Download and open the RockWallet app
2. Follow the prompts to create your account
3. Set up secure sign-in (a passkey)
All RockWallet users start at level 1. At level 1, you can send, receive, and store crypto (with some exceptions depending on your location).
To buy, swap, and sell (again with some exceptions depending on your location), you need to unlock level 2.

Your account helps RockWallet:
- Protect your wallet and crypto
- Enable secure sign-in
- Power features like buy, swap, and sell
- Meet legal and compliance standards

**Used RockWallet with Wyre?**
You’ll need to create a new RockWallet account. Wyre credentials no longer work.
RockWallet now runs on:
- A new account system
- Updated security technology
- A platform separate from Wyre

**What happens next?**
After setup, you can:
- Send and receive crypto
- Complete identity verification
- Unlock level 2 and buy, swap, and sell
Keep in mind, features can vary depending on your location. Not all users will be able to buy, swap, and/or sell.
